About G's family

Hope for the Holidays

This hasn't been the best year for Chanelle and her two teenage girls. After enduring the loss of a family member and losing her employment, the family faced eviction last month. However, Chanelle is a fighter and has found a temporary residence for her family for three months, allowing her time to focus on her goals needed to become self sufficient again. Already, Chanelle is making big steps--she is now working two jobs, reestablished herself with needed emotional supports, and working a budget plan to allow an emergency savings account to help her sustain when life throws her a curveball. Chanelle is realistic, smart, and motivated. She also has a huge sense of community and giving back, sharing any resources that she learns about to other people in her life or those she meets. Chanelle has a strong faith and is open to sharing her testimony with others to help even one person. This family would be very thankful and appreciative if they are selected for Hope for the Holidays, allowing them to enjoy the holidays together.

About Cher

Age: 14 | Gender: Female | Race: Black or African American

Cher is a quiet, respectful 14-year-old that just "goes with the flow" in life, according to her mother. She doesn't ask for much and is thankful for anything that she receives. Her favorite class is history and she has a goal to become a nurse or have a career in the medical field like her mother. Cher enjoys rollerskating on the weekends, looking at makeup, cooking and eating new foods, and painting. She also has a strong desire to try and learn new braids, with a goal to hopefully allow this to become a side job to earn extra money for herself. She would love to be gifted a mannequin head to practice braids.  She would also love a paint kit, spiritual journal for teenagers and a pink phone case.
Some needs would be: underclothes (hipsters size 12) and socks (women size 8-11).

About Chris

Age: 12 | Gender: Female | Race: Black or African American

Chris is a 12-year-old girl with a blazing spirit about her. She is curious, questioning and wants to be involved in all of the action. Interestingly, she is considered a homebody by her mother. Chris would much rather be at home tapping into her creative side by drawing, watching movies or journaling than to be at school. Despite that, she wants to be a teacher when she grows up. Chris loves the colors orange and black and Anime. She would love to have an Anime bed set, a scrapbooking kit and beginners make up. As far as needs, Chris could use underclothes (hipsters, size 12), socks (size 8-11 womens) and a 2 pc black pj set (Lg adult).
